NETBALL ASSOCIATION

Diamond Creek Netball Club operate the Saturday Association Netball Competition so to become a member of the Diamond Creek Netball Club and to play in our Saturday Outdoor Association competition you will need to complete the appropriate registration form. These can be obtained by clicking the Full Club Registration Form or Half Year Registration Form (on the right hand side of the screen). If you would prefer to talk to someone you can call our Club Co-ordinator, Kaye Ralph 9718 2393/0428 898 393 or email kayeralph@hotmail.com  Alternatively you can download a form and email it directly to Kaye or simply pick one up from the foyer of our clubrooms.

It’s never too late to join.

 

If you are an independent team or Club you are most welcome to join the competition simply call Sue at the Clubrooms on 9438 6098. See bottom right of this page.

 

 

 

TRAINING Diamond Creek Saturday Teams

 

MONDAY– Netball Complex

 

Time     9/U and 11/U             4pm - 5pm

            13/U, l5/U, 17/U        5pm - 6pm

Please be mindful that training is about learning the skills of netball  not about preparing for the next game.  If for some reason your coach is not going to be at training  still attend  as you will train with another coach and team for that session and you may learn something different.

1. Attendance at training is expected for all players.

2. Please dress appropriately and wear runners.

3. Parents are most welcome to observe training. Tea and coffee are available at training free of charge.

4. Collect children on time at the end of training.

5. Bring a water bottle. hat, etc

There is no training if:

It is wet and raining the courts are too dangerous to train on .Training will be cancelled. There will be someone at the club rooms to wait with your child until you get there to pick them up.

 

 If it is hot and above 34ºC do not send players. We have a heat stress policy. Please call the clubrooms if unsure 9438 6098 about any weather conditions.

 

 

COMPETITION RULES

Only players that have taken place in the game can be on the score sheet. Players must play three games to qualify for finals. Players can not play twice in the one age group on the one day. See Association By Laws.

There is a full copy of rules at all venues. If you have any concerns please read them if you are still unsure please speak to Sue, the Competitions Co-ordinator.

GAMES

1. Regular attendance

players and coaches

and setting high

standards in attitude

toward officials.

3. Please assist your

coach by taking a turn

at scoring.

4.Please bring correct

game fee (your coach

will tell you how much)

to all games.

5. Make sure you

arrive at the game

10 minutes prior to

 game time, ready to

 play. No jewellery or

no long nails. Sports

briefs/ netball shorts only (available for purchase in the clubrooms), NO BIKE SHORTS. Tracksuit pants may only be worn in extreme weather conditions and at the discretion of the Competition Co-ordinator.

THE EARLY ROUNDS OF COMPETITION

Please note that in the early rounds there is some grading of teams and in some cases, players. Intra-club team transfers can be arranged.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SQUAD & ACADAMY

Talented players from the age of 11 are eligible for this program by invitation.  An additional training session will be held at a date and venue to be advised.

CANTEEN

Canteen Roster Autumn Season 2011

The team you are placed in will be required to do canteen duty once a season. This means a Saturday morning or afternoon of approximately 3 hours to be shared amongst your teams parents. Please keep a look out for your team in the newsletter under Canteen Duty or clubroom window

END OF YEAR BREAK UP

At the end of each year the club holds it’s annual break up party. This always an enormous success. It is held on Grand Final Day in December. At this event trophies are given to the Club Player Of The Year in each age group. These are awarded not on PLAYER performance BUT on CLUB performance. What players have contributed to their team or the club. This is taken on: training attendance, attitude to coaches, umpires, officials, opposing teams and attitude on the court. Other trophies and awards may also be presented in each age group.

All Club players in attendance at the Break Up Event will receive a gift from the Netball Club.
